Computer parts buying guide
Hello, Today I am going to make you decide on, What computer parts to get!
You firstly have to decide on how fast you want the computer, If you want a VERY fast gaming machine go for a sandy bridge i7 2600k, or you could use a i7 2600 to save money. If you want a dual core i'd recommend the i3 sandy bridge, or a intel core 2 duo. But if your crazy and want a super cheap machine, Go for an AMD phenom x4, They don't have good performance but they're cheap!
There are loads of different types of motherboards, P67, P55, Z68 and a lot more.
So you need to decide, If you want a new motherboard, that is really fast and supports the newest hardware, but also kind of cheap, I would go for the P67, however if you want something a little stronger then go for the Z68.
I also recommend a P55, if you want to save a bit of money. Or if you want to save a lot, GO FOR A SOCKET 775 motherboard (they're around £50.) There are also AMD motherboards.
Motherboard type Motherboard supported socket
P55 Socket 1156
P67 Socket 1155
G45 Socket 775
990FX AM3
M68 AM2
Z68 Socket 1155
These are the most common and newest ones that i've found so far.
You also must decide on a graphics card such as the ATI Radeon HD 5870, or 6870. You can also go for a nvidia card like the GTX 480 or newer. These examples are around the same speed. If you have a P55, G45, 990FX, M68, then you would not need a graphics card, but you would still have a faster machine if you have one.
You'll of course need a Hard Drive or SSD. I'd recommend an SSD as they are really fast. If you want lots of hard drive space and speed, use a 7200RPM Drive or higher, But there not as fast as an SSD.
Now this is optional, A DVD drive, to play DVDs. This doesn't matter much, it's for playing and burning DVDs. So you won't need a fast one.
Next we have the Case for your computer, it is recommended to have one with fan's for better performance and air flow. There are millions of cases all over the internet. Just pick one.
Now for the ram, if you have a motherboard that is the same age or newer, then use a DDR3 ram for desktops. For something older, then use DDR2 ram.
Last but not least, The Power supply. The power supply is needed it's the most important thing. Without it, the computer won't power on. If you want a gaming machine, which is really powerful you would probably get a 1000w power supply. But to save money I would go down to 500W and not lower. I'd recommend the 750W for good performance.
That's it, that's all you need to build a computer. I would be happy if you told others about this site!
